MAJOLICA Collection: Oak leaves surrounded by arabesque floral designs mark the character of this pattern, which traces its origins to 1506, and the town of Caffaggiolo, a renowned center of Tuscan potting. Located near Florence, Caffaggiolo was then under the patronage of the Medici family, whose arms and mottoes appear on some of the Caffaggiolo wares. The influence of Florentine masters, particularly Botticelli and Donatello, is seen in earlier works.
